The Detroit Institute of Art houses one of America's greatest encyclopedic collections of art, including masterpieces from Van Gogh, Titian, Van Eyck, Breughel, and Fra Angelico. This once prosperous city is in ruins, facing bankruptcy, and the state of Michigan is poised to sell the art to pay the city's debts. In the center of the maelstrom are the people of Detroit, who have grown up with the DIA at their doorstep, it has given them hope and inspiration, solace in their daily struggles but now with their pensions and livelihood on the line, will they fight keep it, or fight to sell it?
