Script to Screen with Andrew Cymek

It takes a village to bring a movie from concept, to camera, to screen. While most of the film community will find themselves within one area of that process, Andrew Cymek shares his talent as an actor, writer, director and producer. His dedication goes beyond his busy filming schedule, as he regularly joins the discussions on Twitter, especially when his movies are airing. Canadian viewers will be familiar with his work including fan favourites, Autumn Stables and A Very Corgi Christmas.

There is a familial feel when members of the cast and crew of Andrew’s movies join online. Not only is it an opportunity to promote their own work, but they also have a lot of fun and share their support of Andrew and the entire team. Andrew’s humility shines through as he tweets behind-the-scenes info, pictures and stories. He kindly took the time to give viewers a chance to learn more about his love of filmmaking and producing movies that families love to watch.

Switching Lines with Kayla Wallace

Fiona Miller raised a few eyebrows from the moment she stepped off the stagecoach. Her forward approach and modern look easily stood out among the folks in Hope Valley. Despite a rather rocky start, Fiona quickly connected with the town and found her place. From party lines to hemlines, Hope Valley has been forever changed by this lively and contemporary character.

While Fiona received mixed reviews in her early appearances, Kayla Wallace was warmly welcomed on social media. Kayla’s energy and excitement had the Hearties curious about the role that she would be playing. Although Fiona is a switch from what is expected in Hope Valley, Kayla’s talented portrayal of her has connected us to a character and storyline that we couldn’t imagine the series without.

The days leading up to the premiere episode of a favourite series or movie often include promotional images across social media. Following Footsteps with Callum Seagram Airlie

Many children in Hope Valley have endured a great deal of change and loss, including Harper Tucker. It was evident that Harper’s father Virgil had a major influence on his life. Before he perished in the mine accident, he had taught Harper how to fish and to memorize the St. Francis prayer. When Harper’s mother Nancy decided it would be best to leave their painful memories behind, it was Harper’s strength and wisdom that aided in their return to town. He reminded her that even through the heartache, there were new memories made and friendships formed, and it was his dad who brought them to Hope Valley for that better life.

Portrayed by Callum Seagram Airlie, Harper’s story has continued from settler to settled in Hope Valley. The struggles and successes have taught valuable lessons, including the importance of accurate reporting in the school newsletter and working in teams. The depths of Harper’s script resonate with the viewers, due to Callum’s natural talent and his ability to connect to his character. Following in his own father’s footsteps, Callum’s passion and strengths for this industry are apparent. He warmly welcomed the opportunity to discuss his work on When Calls the Heart, as well as his role as Mark in the Father Christmas movies.
