17-year old Rain Burroughs is a mostly-typical teenage girl... with an anything-but-typical disease: early onset schizophrenia. After Rain returns home from being hospitalized, she meets strangely beautiful and hauntingly awkward Caleb. He seems too good to be true and he very well may be. While struggling to make sense of this first brush with young love, she must suppress the self-destructive and manipulative forces consuming her mind. More frightening than the man who haunts her dreams is the real-life neighbor who, Rain is convinced, has kidnapped a little girl and are holding her captive in their attic.
