Well mannered composer Frederic Chopin is the unlikely object of desire for controversial 19th century feminist author George Sand. Sand is setting Paris ablaze by wearing men's clothing and taking a long line of lovers. When she hears the music of Chopin, she vows to stop at nothing to capture the heart of the fragile, shy, and straight laced musician.
