The Royals brings four seasons of bingeworthy decadent debauchery to viewers beginning July 1, followed by an eight-season highly addictive hit of Weeds beginning August 3
EDMONTON (June 15, 2021) – Super Channel is pleased to announce that it will be the exclusive Canadian home to two of Lionsgate Television’s most addictive series this summer: The Royals, a scandalous drama about a fictional British Royal family set in modern-day London, and Weeds, the subversive, satirical and hilarious comedy about a single suburban mom who resorts to selling weed to support her family after her husband unexpectedly dies.
“We brought the entire Mad Men series to our subscribers last summer and we are continuing with this strategy of adding highly entertaining bingeable library content to our programming lineup,” said Jackie Pardy, Chief Content Officer. “Whether viewers are discovering them for the first time or experiencing them all over again, The Royals and Weeds are the perfect summer binge.”
Super Channel rolls out the red carpet for The Royals, television’s most fabulous and immoral family, with a four-episode premiere on Thursday, July 1 at 8 p.m. ET on Super Channel Fuse. Two episodes will then air weekly on Thursdays beginning at 8 p.m. ET. All episodes from all four seasons (40 x 44 min) of the series will be available for viewers to binge at their leisure beginning July 2 on Super Channel On Demand.
Then, beginning August 3 at 9 p.m. ET, Super Channel Fuse sparks it up every Tuesday night with Weeds. Four half-hour episodes will air on Tuesdays each week on the linear schedule with all episodes from all eight seasons of the series (102 x 30) available on Super Channel On Demand as of August 4.

About The Royals:
Set in modern-day England, The Royals follows the lives of a fictional British Royal family that inhabits a world of opulence, lust, sizzling scandal, and regal tradition - a world that also comes with a price tag of duty, destiny and intense public scrutiny.
From the outside, the pristine and regal family has it all, but behind the grand castle walls lie scandalous secrets, dangerous liaisons and tainted politics, with deadly games playing throughout the grandiose hallways. For a family in the public eye, the best kept secrets are just a paparazzi flash, a corrupt bodyguard or a jealous ex-lover away from bringing anarchy to the monarchy.
The series, shot entirely in the UK, features myriad multidimensional characters that are as devious and calculating as they are cunning and dangerous. Leading the stellar cast are Elizabeth Hurley and Vincent Regan as Queen Helena and King Simon, along with William Moseley as Prince Liam and Alexandra Park as Princess Eleanor.
The Royals is produced by Lionsgate, executive produced, written and directed by Mark Schwahn (One Tree Hill), and executive produced by Brian Robbins and Joe Davola (One Tree Hill, Smallville).
About Weeds:
One of the most critically acclaimed and buzzed-about series on television, Weeds follows a suburban mother (Mary Louise Parker in her Golden Globe®-winning portrayal of Nancy Botwin) who deals marijuana to make ends meet after her husband dies unexpectedly. The series exposes the dirty little secrets that lie behind the pristine lawns and shiny closed doors of homes in the fictional gated community of Agrestic, California. As the series progresses, Nancy evolves from a suburban widow selling dime bags to make ends meet for her family, to a full-fledged marijuana queen pin. Along the way she is aided by brother-in-law Andy Botwin (Justin Kirk) to help raise her sons Silas (Hunter Parrish) and Shane (Alexander Gould) - along with fellow Agrestic neighbour and city councilman, Doug Wilson (Kevin Nealon) in constant tow.
The series also stars Emmy® nominee Elizabeth Perkins as Celia Hodes, the uptight head of the PTA, Tonye Patano as Heylia James and Romany Malco as Conrad Shepard. The series also features over 500 guest stars including Julie Bowen, Snoop Dogg, Martin Short, Natasha Lyonne, Bob Odenkirk, Carrie Fisher, Alison Janney, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Zoey Deschanel, Matthew Modine and Jane Lynch.
Created by Jenji Kohan and produced by Lionsgate in association with Tilted Productions, Weeds has been honoured with multiple award nominations, including 21 Emmys®, 10 Golden Globes® (including Best Comedy Series) and six SAG® Awards over the course of its eight-season run on SHOWTIME.
